Robust build quality
Neither too small nor to big. Isn't too bulky either
Good speed of transfer (12 GB of .avi movie files transferred in under 9 minutes) in USB 2.0. I do not have a computer with USB 3.0 :(
Utility softwares like Transcend Elite and RecoveRx are good. Didn't use all the functionalities in these softwares, though!

There are two USB ports to plug for proper usage, which is very annoying..
Astonishing transfer rates, support for all the major operating systems but with an issue. MAC OSX support is good.
FAT doesn't not allow transferring of file size of more than 4gb (theoretical lesser in reality) to transfer, that means no blu-rays, no ISO images for games, OS etc, for you.

Advice: reformat to exFAT

I am not the 1st to use Transcend product but I am curios of how many Indian brag and say "Transcend is bad"! I ask why and they say "its just bad!"
Seriously? guys? I think Transcend is reliable more than other products....So far Segate,Western Digital and Transcend are best quality product within Asia!

1. The cable is short and a bit hard to maneuver. More flexible and longer cable would be better.
2. There is a button on the device. Not sure what it is for. Nothing seem to happen when I press it. It is not an eject-drive or write-lock button as one would expect.

really a very good device.... Flipkart service the best.... Hats off..really go for this one if u wanna buy a 500GB HDD... perfect storage device as mentioned. Worthy for the money spend... I preferred the 500 GB one better than 1 TB due to much reliability of the device.. But after getting this one, I really feel that 1 TB can also be purchased.... Please go for the higher one... I'd u really want to have a better HDD..

Purchased as a replacement for a Seagate 500G, with price the deciding factor.
The rubber? or soft casing around the drive makes for good protection against falls.
The USB 3.0 cable won't plug into any USB 2.0 drives, and vice versa. Replacement cables are easily found if needed.

The transfer speed is noticeably higher than with a 2.0 drive. Serves mass storage and carry purposes well.

Perfectly decent device.

I have a USB 3.0 laptop and this disk works great for back ups. Speed is really fast. About 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Also comes with Transcend Elite which is a great back up tool. It backs up Outlook emails as well. All in all Transcend is great and this disk is rugged. Won't hurt itself when it falls.

Nice product at a acceptable price. Perfect to handle as per size and weight. Not too Big-Not too Small. Neither Bulky. Nice connectivity and transfer speed. Used it both on USB2 & USB3. A must buy for those who look for a Compact, Lite, Convenient product.
