Set before the events that transpired in the original Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted: Golden Abyss explores the story of Nathan Drake as he tries to help his friend find some ancient relics. The setup may seem simple, but it will leave Nathan running for his life as he encounters various enemies who are after the same relics. Thinking smart and beating his opponents with wit rather than just muscle power, Nathan has to embark on an epic quest that will test his survival skills to the hilt. Are you ready for a new Nathan Drake adventure?
The 4th instalment in the Uncharted series is also the first entry in the handheld gaming console. The game is targeted towards hard-core gamers who are fans of the series. The action-adventure video game has many new tweaks that help improve the gameplay. Uncharted: Golden Abyss game card is available for the PlayStation Vita gaming console and carries a Teen rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
Dark secrets are hidden inside the dense jungles of Central America. Drake’s long-time friend, Jason Dante, needs help to uncover those secrets. Drake is sceptical, but teams together with Dante on his mission. As he travels deep into an unknown territory, Drake gets attacked by many enemies and he has no idea how they reached there. Trying to uncover all the mysteries surrounding him, Drake has to separate the lies from the truth while also fighting for his life.
Developed by SCE Bend Studio with additional help from Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Uncharted: Golden Abyss will keep you up for hours at night with its engaging gameplay. The single-player mode in the game will take you across the beautiful forests in Central America that are surrounded with mountain ranges, ruined temples and many other things. You have to move carefully as one wrong step can kill you without warning. The game is engaging to play as you can swing from ropes, make death-defying leaps and more.
The puzzle-based gameplay has been tweaked as you now have to put together maps, match symbols to open doors, take charcoal rubbings of artefacts and others. The touchscreen on the back of the PS Vita enhances the interactive aspect as you will have to use the controls several times to get Nathan out of dangerous situations.
There are a variety of weapons at your disposal that you can use to silence your enemies. These include pistols, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, machine guns and many others. The animations in the game are smooth flowing as you will feel the recoil when you shoot bullets at your opponents. As said earlier, Golden Abyss is all about strategizing before acting. You will succeed a lot more if you plan your attack before going guns blazing in front of your enemies. This also enhances the excitement factor in the game.
