PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS Sow sunflower seeds outdoors in spring or fall in well-draining soil at a depth twice the width of the seed and cover with loose soil. The seeds will start germinating in 8 to 12 days under ideal growing conditions. In case you are starting seeds indoors, transplant them outdoors once they are 4 to 6 inches tall. GROWING REQUIREMENTS PESTS Keep an eye out for powdery mildew, fungal spots, and root rot at times. Moreover, a few beatles and caterpillar may also start munching on sunflower plant leaves. Regular check-up and some natural homemade pest repellants can take care of these problems. SOIL Well-draining soils with average to rich fertility are good to grow sunflower miniature. High nitrogen soil content can always be beneficial to sunflower plants. SPOT Pick a sunny spot that receives 5-6 hours of sunlight every day for better blooms. TEMPERATURE Ideal soil temperature for germination must range from 15 to 22℃. WATERING Keep the soil bed evenly moist until seedlings have established themselves. Mulch for better moisture retention in soil.
