The Girl who Saved the King of Sweden penned down by bestselling author, Jonas Jonasson is a unique and picaresque story of how one girl’s actions can have far-reaching consequences.

    Summary of the Book

The King and Prime Minister of Sweden went missing from a gala banquet at the Royal Castle on June 14th, 2007. But the actual story started in 1961 with the birth of Nombeko Mayeki in a shack in Soweto. Born in a poor toenship, Nombeko was destined to grow up fast and die early, without having achieved anything in her life. Despite the limited resources, Nombeko manages to find a job as a housecleaner and eventually makes her way up to position of chief advisor for one of the world’s most secret projects. South Africa had developed six nuclear missiles in the 1980s and then willingly dismantled them in 1994. But there was a seventh missile which the world did not know about. Nombeko knows a little too much about the seventh missile and now she is on the run from the South African government and one of the best secret services in the world. Nombeko goes to Sweden which is now a nuclear nation, and the fate of the world lies in her hands. Will Nombeko be able to come out of this mess?

    Good choice

I ordered this book after reading the first book of the author about a 100 year old man, which was really interesting. This book is also good but certainly not like the first book.
I found the packing unsatisfactory. The book was simply put into a large plastic bag without any bubble wrap, which resulted in slight damage at corners.

    Moderate

The writer has tried to make the book funny with sarcasm but it did not turn out really well. After few chapters the charm just wanes out and you try to find a valid story. And to top it all its not a small story. So if you like such kind of genre then go for it else it can be avoided.
