Operating on a Rockstar Leeds 3D Engine, Vice City Stories follows Vic Vance who is a corporal in the U.S. Army, however, after he is staged and made to look like he is involved in drug dealing and human trafficking by his superior, he is left jobless and homeless. Despite the tragedy that strikes him, Vic manages to get himself a place to stay in with the help of Phil. Along the plot, he takes on various assignments given to him by the criminally inclined individuals of the city and soon rises the ranks of the crime ladder. The events of this game take place before GTA: Vice City.

The gameplay alternates between a third-person shooter and a racing game. With a magnificent open world setting, you can run, walk, swim, ride, drive, fly and do much, much more! Though there are missions you need to accomplish in order to progress the storyline, you can take the game at your own pace as more often than not just wreaking havoc by running around the town with a machine gun in hand turns out to be fun. Side missions add greater value to this delightful game as well.
