Amazing lens for its price point. Very sharp
For those who are looking for a pro lens at wide angle zone, this lens fits the bill perfectly. I have a T1i and was looking fr a good upgrade from my kit lens. The other options are Canon 17-55 and Tamron 17-50. While this lens beats Tamron in terms of clarity and sharpness and in terms of price its very less than the canon`s 17-55. Dont expect the earth!

I bought this lens as a regular lens to use in events and at home shooting. I have a canon 50mm f1.8 which is a great lens but was a problem shooting in small places if used with a crop sensor camera.A little zoom and a lens bit faster than regular kit lens was the need.
Pros of the sigma 17-50 are:
1.Feels solid. Rubber grip and although a bit heavy, the lens feels good to handle.Doesnt feel cheap at all.
2. Auto focus doesnt have too much sound at all.

Really Nice
Shigma17-50mm f/2.8 is fantastic lens. with throughout same aperture.very nice photographs in low light.auto focus noise no problem,, only issue zoom ring little bit tight.And it's a heavy too.Good quality photo in less price.
