In the first part, the story follows the unexpected love that a Punjabi man and woman, Fateh and Pooja, find for each other on their voyage to Canada. While the man wants to get a Canadian citizenship by getting married to a native of Canada, the girl wants to pursue her studies. The sequel sees Fateh, now a police officer, going to Canada to bring back Pooja by the order of her father, a high-ranking cop. He finds it hard to get her back to India as she is a rule-oriented cop who works for the Vancouver police department.
